COSMETIC & RECONSTRUCTIVE SURGERY EXPERT FORUM
is it possible??

is it possible??

My story begins 12 months ago (feb 2009) when I had laproscopic surgery.  The surgeon put one of the insisions inside my belly button.  This insision had many complications attached to it and nothing was improving the reoccuring problems I had.

In dec 2009, another doctor I came across when i ended up in emergency suggested that because I had tried all other avenues I have my belly button and the surrounding tissue removed so that these problems I was having would be resolved, the pain from these problems was unbearable.  So we decided the surgery was necessary and so I have no belly button.

This to me looks quite weird and I am extremely self conscious about it, especially in summer when I want to swim but am too embarrassed because my stomach isnt normal and has no belly button.  I was wondering if it would be at all possible for a plastic surgeon to re-make me a belly button.  Im not thinking about having it just yet because of financial reasons and i want some more healing time for my stomach.

But I was just wondering for when the time is right will it be possible for me to get a plastic surgeon to give me a new belly button or is it imposible??

Thanks.

It is possible to reconstruct a belly button.  I would consult with a local plastic surgeon about timing for this procedure which should be delayed at least for another six months.

Thank you for your input.  It will be delayed longer than 6 months due to financial barriers, realistically i wont be in a position to think about it for maybe 18-24 months.
