little finger nail portion cosmetic surgery

Hi  I am sumit . One  month  before I met with an accident , in which  my left hand's little finger amputed  from  nail portion.   Doctor says  that  the growing of nail is  almost impossible.  I want  to know that  if the end portion  of finger (from last fold)  has been amputed , what  could be  the possible  chances  to  get the nail grow in  that finger.  If  it  is not possible  is there any alternate solution   in cosmetic surgery to  get  the finger  likewise earlier  with nail.

Growth of a nail will depend on whether the growth center of the nail (nail matrix) has been destroyed in the injury.  Often nail growth will occur, but with an abnoral apperance of the nail.  Reconstruction is near impossible and you would probably be better off using an external artificial nail.
