nasal mohs repair

Dear Dr.

I had a two year old basal cell carcinoma removed via mohs from just above the tip of my nose almost a year ago.  One doctor said he could stitch my 1/2 inch depressed wound horizontally shortening my nose 1/2 inch.  Yikes.  Doctor please tell me there is a another way.  Thank you.  Libzo

There are various techniques to correct this defect with local rotation skin flaps (from either adjacent nasal skin or even the forehead) with or without skin grafts. If you have not consulted with a local plastic surgeon, you should.
