neck lift revision

Hello Dr.,
It is 10 weeks since I had a revision of a neck lift originally done 7 months ago along with a chin implant.  I had long thick vertical cords from chin to neck, and my PS told me it was scar tissue.  During the revision, he removed the cords, resmoothed my neck and cut the platysma this time.  The PS said the cords were actually a hypergranulation which formed in the dermis of my neck skin, most likely to help attached the skin to the muscle.  I am athletic and do not have much body fat.  The hypergranulation cords began forming again after about a month, and now after 10 weeks, the cords are getting larger and longer and I am almost back where I started. Have you had any experience with this type of outcome?

At this time, I would consider the external application of a compression garment or band to seek if it will influence the maturation of the scar.  Pressure dressing a well know to assist in helping some scars.  Discuss with your surgeon.
