nerve damage after eye lifts

nerve damage after eye lifts

I had eye lifts top and botton about 3 yrs ago and I have had nerve damage ever since, my Dr. said it would heal at first and after a year he acted puzzled and did not have an answer for me. I have tingling, itching and a pulling sensation real bad in the inside corner of my left eye that runs up my forehead and into my hair line and very mild in my right eye. It gets  hypersensitive at times and drives me up a wall.  I feel like digging the nerve out of my skin.  Is there anything that can help this? Does this happen often?  I want to have a full face lift down the road and now I am afraid to do it. Also was this a mess up on the Drs. part?   Jan

This is a problem that I have not encountered in over thirty years of practice, so I have no ready answer for the problem.  It does sound like irritation of the supraorbital nerve.  My only suggestion is to be evaluated by a neurologist or at a pain clinic.  It is far from certain that any additional surgery to that area would eb advisable for this problem.  Your problem is not necessarily a predictor of future outcomes with facelift surgery.
