nerve damage after facelift

nerve damage after facelift

I had a facelift a little over 2 years ago and although it has improved, I am still living with nerve damage on the right side of my face. When I close my eyes the right corner of my mouth pulls up. Also, the right side of my upper lip and nose has little movement. Is there any treatment available to help repair this. My plastic surgeon has been of little to no help.

You have obviously sustained partial damage to branches of the right facial nerve as a result of your facelift procedure.  At this time is it not likely that further nerve recovery will occur.  Unfortunately, surgical correction of this limited, but distressing, post surgical injury is difficult.  I would seek the advise of another plastic surgeon.

I also had my eyes done top lids and botton. It has been over 3 yrs and I have tingling and severe itching in the corner of my left eye and it gets really hyper sensitive off and on, and i have  a constant pulling sensation also from it. Will this get better? It drives me up a wall I want to dig the nerve out of my skin. It did no good to get the life as the scratching and rubbing of it has my skin all loose again.  My Dr. who did the surgery could not give me any answers.   Jan
