nostrils asymmetry

nostrils asymmetry

I had a Rhinoplasty 5 weeks ago and I'm noticing obvious assymetry between nostrils. the left nostril is higher than the right. I called my plastic surgeon he told me that is for sure all about swelling, you should wait for the the swelling to heal.

I was seeing photos of me took directly after the surgery and I have noticed that the plastic splint was put in an asymmetry way, it was covering more the right side than the left side. probably this is the reason for the asymmetry, but is this could be corrected by time??

thanks in advance

The splint has little or nothing to do with asymmetry other than perhaps early post-op swelling.  The most common cause of asymmetry following rhinoplasty is unrecognized pre-existing asymmetry.  It would be better to critically view pre-op photos than ones taken immediately after the procedure, when swelling is significant.  It may take three or four months to evaluate the post-op results
