old lip scar

Hi,

I have a scar on my lower lip as a result of a sports injury  from my teens (a very agressive girl crashed into me and in the collision bit my lower lip!). This cut was stitched - badly initially, and then a few years later it was redone (as it was very protuding and a bit lumpy looking), with slightly better results - but I still have a pronounced scar and scar tissue.  What are my options here? Are fraxel or laser a possiblity to smooth this protuding scar or will this need surgery?

Any form of laser therapy will be useless for this form of scar deformity.  Surgery, if appropriate, would be your only option.

Thanks for getting back to me. I'll check this out with a local plastic surgeon.
