old seroma

i had my tt done more than 2 years ago and since then had a lump on my mid abdomen but it's not painful, it does get more pronounced when i do abdominal exercises, I didn't know it was a seroma until just recently after ultrasound was done. I've read articles and also from this site about recurrent seromas/recurrent aspiration/infection and finally more surgery to take out the bursa. I'm afraid i already have a bursa since i've had this problem for a long time now. My doctor is recommending aspiration by a surgeon.
From what i've read so far i'm scared it might cause more problem. MY QUESTION IS, if i leave this seroma untreated, will it cause more problem in the future, will it get any bigger? will the fluid get infected? will it develop to cancer? will it affect surrounding tissues or organs? will it spread out? I'm scare if i have it aspirated it might trigger it to produce more fluid or introduce infection to an otherwise clean fluid. PLS ADVISE. THANK U.

I am wondering if there is a foreign body like a remaining suture used to tighten and close the abdominal wall fascia that is causing the problem.  I perform a large volume of abdominoplasties and have never encountered this problem at this late date.  Your plastic surgeon should be in a position to advise you about appropriate treatment.
