pending face lift-Need information

Early 2008 I am having my upper eyes done, and a face lift. The upper eye lids will have excess skin removed, I will also have the creases between my eyebrows filled in and as I was told my nerve that makes me frown will possibly be altered in some way. I am not sure what he will be doing-
A slight lift on the side of the brows-But not a brow lift.(forehead to high not enough skin)
Also the excess skin in my neck area will be removed, and a tuck behind the ears. Natural look

This is my 60th birthday present to myself. What type of pain should I expect? I work with public he stated two weeks, Is this enough? Also what are the complications that might happen?
I will be staying in hotel next to office for two nights and checked by doctor everyday for seven days!!
What do you think? I have always said this is what I wanted, am I in for a big surprise!!!!!!!!!!!!

Your questions are very valid, but it is of concern to me that you state "I am not sure what he will be doing."  Since you are undergoing a significant procedure, you should have a very clear picture of what will be done and confidence that all your questions are being answered in a clear and understandable way.  If not, you need to see your surgeon again before the procedure.  The potential complications of this surgery should have been addressed before and at the time you signed your consent form.

I generally find that patients have a very limited amount of pain (with occasional exceptions) after this surgery due to the significant swelling that often occurs.  In my practice the procedure is performed as either an outpatient or with one overnight short stay in our local surgical center.  Patients are always seen the day after surgery, at four days, at one week, and then less frequently.  I find patients look presentable in public between one week and ten days after the surgery, with a few exceptions.
