pimple like bumps on 9 month scar

My 12 year old fell and almost severed the right nostril. That was in May 07, I was told that is was deeper than they had thought and that there were some internal "stitches" that would be there permanently.  He is healing fine but in mid Dec 07 started to develop a pimple sized  sac (seems almost yellow) on the scar, now (Jan 9 2008) there is another one started and the old one is still there.  They are not painful and feel a little harder to me than initially.  I called the dr and talked to the nurse who said unless he is running a fever or they are draining (which they have not opened at all) to not worry about it.  I am wondering what these might be (i am assuming that some sutures are rising to the top as his skin tightens), but that is only a guess.  Should I insist on an appt?  Thanks!!!

There certainly is a possibility that the deep non-dissolvable sutures are "spitting" out.  An inflammatory reaction occurs around the buried sutures and drives it to the surface. Its worth having your physician or a plastic surgeon look at the area.
