poor outcome to secondary rhinoplasty

poor outcome to secondary rhinoplasty

In 2008 I had bilateral spreading grafts to my nasal septum for airway restriction, and the results greatly
improved my nasal breathing.  There was some irregular countour of the tip cartilage following this process
and in 2010 the same surgeon agreed to refine the troubled area with only surgical facility fees applied.
I was told a couple weeks later that the surgeon worked only on the affected side of the nose, exposing
only one side.  Now a month later my nose looks remarkably different (on the surgery side) and the problem
spot actually looks worse than before.  He also narrowed the operated side giving it a pushed in (pinched)
appearance compared to the non operative side.  Was this an acceptable surgical strategy, and what
options do I have later to remedy this problem.  I should mention he was quick to jump to the age old
alibye..."theres alot of swelling in there, we wont know for about a year".   How stupid do these guys think
we are in this day and age of internet information??  He did this in a closed proceedure and there is acute
asymetry at the tip regarding the lateral cartilages.  Also now again the breathing on the left side is back
to mostly occluded.  Am I out of options here for the future?  I wont allow him to perform any further surgery
on my nose and feel his vision may be impaired in his older age, now 74.  Im sad now and just want to know
there is hope for a future remedy...

If three or four months have passed since your secondary surgical procedure, then you should be in a position to effectively judge the results of the procedure.  If it has been only a few weeks, then it is too early to assess the results.  It is impossible for me to evaluate your results or second guess your surgeon and the procedure he performed.  If you are dissatisfied with the results and lack confidence in your surgeon, then clearly a second opinion is warranted.
