There are multiple options for breast reconstruction without using an implant that range from free microvascular flaps taken from the abdomen or buttocks, to pedicled flaps from the back, to free fat injections. Everyone's situation and body type are so different, that relying on anecdotal comments from other women who have undergone reconstruction may not apply to your case. Your best option is to have your general surgeon refer you to a a plastic surgeon who is well versed and experienced with breast reconstruction.
