scar tissue after remove chin implant

scar tissue after remove chin implant

Hello I need your help
I'm a mother (37 years old) I had a otoplastic surgery but the doctor wanted to do a chin implant too.......I wasn't sure but he told me if I don"t like he can remove it and I would  come back to my pre-op...
Then ( 18 days later) I didn't like it and I ask him to remove it but he didn't do it. Instead, he put a little one (he accepted than the first one was to big for me)....but  I asked him to remove the second implant  3 weeks later because i needed to come back to USA and still I didn't like it ...
The doctor removed the implant but 3 days later I had a lot liquid inside and the doctor removed the liquid with a needle then 1 week later I had a big hard ball ...he told me that in 6 months it would go away...but now it has been 8 months and it's better and softer, but still you can see a ball and you can feel scar tissue right under my mouth ...because the implant was inside my mouth.
I have gone to another doctor in USA (Atlanta, GA)and he told me that I need to wait , he injected a steroid only one time but still I feel horrible .....
Do you now if some day I will return to my Pre -op because I feel really bad and horrible and my self-esteem is very low.....I wait and wait.....
Let me Know what  you think  and if the steroid can help.....
Thank you very MUCH!!!!!
Maria

You clearly had a seroma (fluid accumulation in the cavity created by the implant insertion).  This ultimately healed with the development of scar tissue.  If steroid and time do not work, then it may be possible to surgically reduce the scar tissue.  Follow the advise of your Atlanta physician.

I would wait several months to see the effect of the steroids.  I believe it is possible to achieve a normal chin either with time or ultimately with surgery.

Thank you very much...
The last question is:

Now when you see me from the side of my face you see a bump right under my bottom lips so I don't have the "S-shaped"form on my chin under my lip.
I suppose that this bump is because of the insicion inside my mouth.
The doctor said that this is a scar tissue but I want to be sure if steroid can help at this point.
Now it is softer but it is still a bump and I keep massaging it.I don't Know if the massage is working or is it worse.
It is softer since dicember but it is not going down anymore
Thank you

I do not think it is possible to predict the results of regression of the scar tissue without waiting it out for several more months.  I personally have stopped using an intraoral approach to chin implant insertion because a submental incision seems to have less problems in my hands.
