scar tissue under the skin after a facelift

One month ago I had a neck and half face lift.  I am now have a large under the skin scar tissue development next to my mouth, it is preventing me from opening my mouth, I can not even eat a banana, floss my teeth, etc.  My doctor said to massage the area, and come in the office for ultra sound treatments to help dissolve the scar tissue,  several days later there is more scar tissue devloping in other areas.  what is your take on this and what is your recomendation?

At one month post surgery, scar tissue is at its thickest.  While revision surgey may be necessary, the problem will probably reolve with time and patience.  The ultrasonic treament can be helpful.

I just wanted to tell you that I feel your pain. I too had a neck and lower face lift and had months and months of suffering and uncertainty. I had to undergo a second surgery to remove the permanent sutures from the neck lift. I experienced foreign body tissue rejection. It swelled up a giant ball of pissed off tissue that bulged exactly like a bull frog when I would speak, clear my throat, sing wistle or anything besides doing nothing! I never had a double chin so it was very disturbing. It also felt wierd like something was in me that could'nt get out! My doctor didn't know, no one here at Med help knew, no onr at makemeheal.com knew, I had to research myself and finally convinved my Dr to do an xray followed by a CT scan followed by the second surgery to remove the permanent sutures.by then enough scar tissue formed for the neck lift to hold by the scar tissue. He had to debate a large ball of irritated tissue and so I think a few small fragmenbts of sutures remained my neck and face are finally looking great however I still am popping tiny fragments of the suture every few months. It looks much like a pimple that bad under the skin kind that swell but they go away once I pull the tiny piece out or the Dr pulls it out if I can't. As for you, it could be infection, ask ur dr for some anitbiotics and steroids also do your vowels religously. Warm compresses will feel good and get the blood flowing in there. Keep in contact w ur Dr. He may have to take a peek in there and see what's wrong
Best wishes dear girl.
