vericose veins and Factor IV Leiden disorder

I am a 46 year old female with Factor IV Leiden Disorder. I have vericose and spider veins in my legs. In one leg the vericose veins have become painful and sometimes swell. I have been referred to a Dermatologist to collpse the veins. I was told it would also help diminish the appearance of the veins. Is this a safe way to treat and diminish vericose veins with factor IV Leiden?

Rather than a dermatologist, I would consult with a vascular surgeon, who would be a better expert to correct both the underlying venous insufficiency as well as superficial veins.  In addition, that surgeon would be familiar with your genetic condition.
