Being sick and having surgery

by April2, Jun 19, 2009 09:19PM
My teenage daughter is due to have minor surgery in less than 3 weeks and has mono right now. She's had it once or twice before and it does seem to be milder (no fever, just a little sore throat and a little swollen) this time but I know you're not supposed to have surgery if you're sick. Should we go ahead and cancel and reschedule or wait till it's closer and have them check her over right before and see how she is? Should she be over this by then? The doctor who checked her over today didn't seem concerned about it. Would like another opinion, please.

If both her treating physician and her surgeon are comfortable with proceeding with the surgery, would accept their opinion.
