Breast pain after 2 years of implant surgery

by nfjones, Sep 25, 2009 07:56PM
I originally had breast implants in 1981.  After a routine mammogram it was found that both implants had ruptured.  I had them removed in Nov 2007 and new implants replaced.  About 2 weeks ago, I noticed that my right breast was "sore" as if REALLY bruised and felt it becoming harder, as if there was scar tissue forming. I did a self-examine and felt a knot in the right side of the right breast.  It hurts constantly, and especially when sleeping on my right side.  I scheduled a mammogram today.  During the procedure, the tech did the left breast first, which was no big deal, however when she tested the right breast, the pain was so bad, I nearly passed out.  It felt like a sharred of glass being pushed into the tissue of my breast.  The mammogram was done digitally, so she could see the images right away.  She didn't see anything, but consulted the radiologist, due to the pain I was experiencing.  She came back and said the radiologist saw "something" and wanted to do a "spot" check.  Once again, we went thru that procedure and it hurt so bad, I could hardly stand.  She had that reviewed by the radiologist and told me there was nothing they could see.  I have an appointment with my PS this coming Wednesday.  The pain is so bad.  I've applied ice and heat, and have been taking 800mg of Advil to try to reduce the pain. I really don't know what to do next.
