Cosmetic reshaping of the skull

by one4all, Jul 07, 2008 09:30AM
As a 5 year old child it was discovered that I had a tumor on my brain, I´m not quite sure what kind. I had some valve on my head with a tube leading to my stomach to drain liquid I think. I´m now 31 and have absolutely no health problems related to my tumor but my skull is a bit bigger than average specially it´s length. I´ve never been able to have a normal life not because of my health but because of my phisical deformation, I never got to make friends because everyone made fun of my back then and they still do today in some way. So I guess my question is if it´s posible to have my skull reshaped after all this time? My skull is not extremely large but just nor quite normal. I know advances in modern reconstructive and cosmetic surgery do great things these days but just need to know, to at least have hope.

I would consult with a craniofacial surgeon to determine if your problem can be corrected and the risks of doing so.

To: Fixing an unevely shaped head cosmetically?
I too was hoping to find some info here (have a semi-flat backside of my head.  Probably because as an infant my parents let me sleep on my back only, something about doctors telling them it was safer.  I'm sure things have changed since then (I'm 40 now).  Recently I started shaving my head and frankly it looks great on my except when people look at me from behind, then it looks weird.  Was hoping to find out if there are silicone or other fillers out there tgat' could fill out the flat are but it seems like everyone is getting the same advice -  "I would consult with a craniofacial surgeon"...  Which is pretty obvious, there's a reason we search info online, privacy and basic "can & how can it be done?"
