Fibroadenoma

I am 20 yrs old, I found a fibroadenoma in my left breast, I have conformed it is fibroadenoma by an Ultrasound scanning, But it is only one,painless and very small in size(below 1cm in diameter), my question is, the removal of this fibroadenoma is necessery or not? what have to do?

I have gone through a very minor surgery to remove a fibroadenoma - almost pea sized.  I chose this route simply for peace of mind. My doctor said it could be monitored but they are benign and no risk of cancer.  Mine was easy to remove and the scar is barely visible.  I used a plastic surgeon who removed it using an incision in the areola and hidden stitches and thus you can't even tell it happened.  It was removed under the 'twilight' anesthesia on a Friday and I was back to work on Monday - didn't take anything other than Advil for pain.  Your doctor should be able to recommend a course of action, but if removal is what you choose; if it is anything like my experience, you have nothing to worry about.
