Hematoma 10+ years ago

by Jen6120, Nov 10, 2009 09:39AM
Hello,

I was in a bad car accident about 10 years ago, and my forehead hit the front window very hard.  I had brusing in both eyes and a huge hematoma about the size of a large egg in the middle of my forehead.  The doctors told me that it would be about a year before the swelling went back to normal, and it took quite a bit longer then that. 10 years later, the swelling has gone down, but now my forehead has a dent with some hard tissue around it.  I never had any blood drained. It has bothered me for years and I'm getting married next summer. Is there anything I can do even though it's been so long?

Thanks.

I would assume you have extensive deep scar tissue as a result of resolution and healing from the hematoma.  It may be possible to smooth the area and I would consult with a local plastic surgeon.  Depedning on the condition of your forehead, treatment option could run from scar revision to injectable fillers.
