Hernia pain

I had a umbilical hernia repair with mesh 5 months ago, but have i am feeling pain where the mesh is and around the left hand side of scar.If i press where the mesh is it is still painfull.
I have been treated for two seperate deep set infections,but the consultant has been a bit dissmisive,i am seeing another consultant soon, has any one has this problem.

i had my hernia surgery August 2008, my hernia was above stomach, today it is painful if i press it, it happens periodically dont know why maybe just because the mesh is a foreign material
