Mental Crease

What is the best way to fix a mental crease? I was thinking about getting a chin implant, but some doctors claim that it might make the crease even worse.

There are techniques that can be used to reduce a mental crease ( a kind of pants-over-vest) closure after removal of the crease.  It is hard to recommend a specific treatment or its likelihood of success without examination you directly.  It is not clear if the addition of a chin implant would be helpful of not.
