PDS Suture allergy

by mimigar, Jun 24, 2009 12:40PM
I had a wound that had internal absorbable sutures. Once the top stitches were removed, the wound reopened. The Dr. said I had an allergy to that type of suture. I want to get a tummy tuck, but am afraid I will have the same reaction to internal absorbable sutures. What is your suggestion?

There are a number of different absorbable or even non-absorbable sutures that can be used in place of PDS.  Discuss this with your surgeon.
