implant encapsulation

implant encapsulation

I am scheduled for a revision because both of my silicone implants are encapsulated.  I have been reading, and it seems this may happen again even after this surgery!  Am I better off just to take them out?  I do not mind if they are small , but I do worry about too much excess skin- that is why I had the implants in the first place.....can they take them out and also remove the skin at the same time so they won't be so droopy???  What to do

How long ago did u have your implant surgery? How quickly did u begin using your arms (specifically your pectoral muscles after your sugery? Do you smoke? Did you raise your arms, drive! Brush your teeth, reach over ur head or anything like that during the first week or 2 following your first implants? Did you go much larger than your normal breast size? I.e too big too fast? Any of these things can attribute to the possibility of capsular contraction even months following your surgery. And those are just possible reasons excluding how your own particular body heals. My suggestion is make sure you have a really excellant surgeon and also make sure you rest rest and more rest following the surgery. I lnow you feel fine after only a short period but the patients responsibility is equally important as the surgeons. As for just removing them and taking out the excess skin, sure that is an option but the scars can be pretty ugly. Make sure you use a really well referred and researched board certified PS that specialises in breast reconstruction so they have expereience with problem breasts. If they can build a nice breast after a mastectomy, that's the man or woman I want working on me! I HIGHLY recommend Dr. George Alexander in Las Vegas! Google him. He is awesome! http://www.alexandermd.com
Best of luck to you
