Hi , I am a 52 yr old female. I had a full abdomioplasty 5 weeks ago , scar tissue healing fine , but have a lot more swelling and numbness on one side , the other side is great . My surgeon doesnt seem at all concerned and says it will rectify but it is not getting any better and is very uncomfortable if i dont wear my compression garment. ShoulD I be concerned ?

Persistent swelling at five weeks post abdominoplasty in the absence of fever, redness and other signs is not unusual.  Numbness is a result of the swelling.  If your surgeon indicates that nothing unusual occurred at surgery on that side, then I would expect it to result in another month or so.
