lump and bruising in breast after reduction

by ladon, Mar 08, 2009 09:01PM
I had breast reduction surgery about a month ago. On day 11 of post op I noticed a slight swelling in my right breast. my Dr. tried to drain it but was unsuccessful and told me not to worry. It has now swelled more and is almost entirely bruised a deep purple. I have been in to the Dr.two more times and he has tried to drain it again but not much comes out. He said "short of rushing me into surgery" he's not sure what to do except wait it out. I am now at a constant pain level between 6-7 and not sure what to do. Does this warrant going back into surgery? Will my body reabsorb the lump? How long should I wait? Will there be permanent damage?

Thank you for any insight you can give me.
