permanantly swollen cheekbone

My cheekbone was injured, actaully both sides, but one is way more swollen, this happened while being in an abusive relationship. I was punched in the head, and face repeatedly, there were times where I couldn't close my mouth, one of my cheekbones sticks out a little more, and it has changed the shape of my face, and from certain angles you can see how badly it is swollen. Im not sure if the actaul bone changed shape, or the muscle tissue is just messed up. I really would like to get cosmetic surgery, but not sure if it's serious enough, also what would be the process. I never had it looked at so I do not know if it was fractured at that time, but it seems like permanently swollen up..

it may have been broken bone and now has healed incorrectly... it is a difficult problem to fix, easier if it was done earlier. there are a few options you have(like an implant to even things out, etc), but those have to be discussed with your surgeon.
