I came back from overseas and started feeling nauseous. At first I thought it was the jet lag - then I started getting severe upper abdominal pains. Had an endocopy done and they found H. Pylori
(although I never had any heartburn except when pregnant??) I am now taking Nexium which sort of seems to be helping. My bowels also felt funny (feeling like I was constipated, but I wasn't) and they sent me for a colonoscopy. Found some ulcers and an inflammed ilieum. Diagnosed with Crohn's (although I never had diarreah (diarrhea) or the ab pains) - however bloods showed no inflammation and stools OK. Biopsy also inconclusive. They gave me Saloflax which really hasn;t changed much. In the meantime, I do have a lot of back pain which I am not sure whether it is or isn't related to the GI issues. I also get some sharp pains (infrequently, but constantly) near my navel, under each side of the ribs
and on either side of stomach. Am under a lot of stress at the moment so not sure if this is also contributing, Does anyone have any ideas on what else I should be looking out for or what this could be?????
Sorry to hear you are not feeling well. I have crohn's disease as well and have problems with constipation more then I do diarrhea. The only time I get diarrhea is when I have been having bad crohn's attacks lately. Biopsy's three years ago showed that I had crohns however the blood work has never really shown anything that coincided with a crohns diagnosis. Not everybody presents wiyh Crohn's symptoms the same way.
Try eliminating certain foods from your diet to see if that helps. And whatever you do don't give up trying to find answers. Sometimes it gets discouraging but keep pressing forward. It does get better.
