. We had it in remission but when she turned 19 and moved from home she relapsed. There was no saving the large bowel and they placed a j-pouch. Because of all the steroids (she had also had bacterial meningitis) she ended up w/ avascular necrosis and had a hip
area. The gynecologist she went to see thinks they are cysts and keeps cutting them open but they won't heal all the way. Now don't get me wrong but the doctors in her area are not always that bright (thats why I took her to a specialist in Vermont) on things they don't understand. They tend to keep treating and if it doesn't work, instead of referring her to someone who may know, they through up their hands
and say "gee, I don't know" and keep doing the same things. I was wondering if anyone with crohn's or colitis has had these problems, knows what it maybe (so she can check with her doctor to rule things out, or if crohn's or colitis can cause this problem, and maybe the location of a good doctor who if he doesn't know may know a doctor who can figure it out? She is on no medications at this time so its not a side effect of them and no she does not have a std (her doctor had tested her 3 times for them and all negative).
I know how your daughter feels I was diagnosed around the same age as her, I'm 23 now and and have lived with the J-Pouch for about 6 years. I have had the same problem with lesions/bumps in the vagina mine would actually burst. Honestly my gyno told me to run a warm bath and soak in it for about 15 mins. I did it around 2x a day for a week and they disappeared. I think she did say they were just cysts, But It could also be a fistula from one end to the other. You should take your daughter to her Gastro doctor and explain the issue to them. I know sometimes doctors like to pawn symptoms off on other doctors as well, if they send her back to the gyno I would ask for an internal ultrasound.
