Has anyone who has been diagnosed with Crohns's ever had a test called and Enteroscopy? I understand it is a non-invasive test and they can inch their way through the small bowl to look for ulcers, etc. I have heard so much about this test and how it will show the doctors the problem where all of the other exams for small bowel failed to to so.
If anyone has had this scoping, would you PLEASE contact me. either here or at ***@**** Thank you in advance...Linda
, and was given an enteroscopy and a colonoscopy at the same time. If youve ever had a colonoscopy, then its the same thing, they just put the camera in your mouth and go down from there, where as with a colonscopy they go from the bottom. It takes the same amount of time, and you are already under, so you dont know the diffference. As for as what they can see and the results, they can see more, as you said and get a better idea of the small bowel. When I had it done, they wanted to confirm my diagnosis as UC and not Crohn's, which they did. With Crohn's, it can effect anywhere in the digestion tract, so this would give them a better idea of where it has effected one's tract. This way they get a picture of everything and not just the large intestine (colon).
I hope this answers your question. Let me know if you have any other questions.
