Cause of UC?

Is there anyone else on here who was taking slimquick around the time they started noticing symptoms of UC? I found an ingredient in it called Xtend which has cellulose Ethers in it. which they say "Cellulose Ethers: Side effects include significant gastrointestinal effects."
Cellulose is found in many different things not limited to just foods. What was your lifestyle like when you started having symptoms?

Yeah I had read an article talking about the MAP bacteria being a  possible cause for crohns and colitis. but there was no definate answer. Now when you say "you changed everything" what all did you have to do? did you take any of the MAP antibiotics? i wonder why doctors wouldnt perscribe the MAP antibiotic right off the bat. I'd love to know how you found relief. Thank you for your response and I do look forward to hearing from you.
Thanks
Laura

The cause of Crohn's Disease and UC is MAP bacteria. It originates in cows and has been transferred to many other animals. It is transferred to humans through milk, this is why UC and Crohn's are only in countries that drink milk (except India but they boil their milk). Pasteurization does not kill the bacteria. MAP bacteria is very resistant to most antibiotics but Crohn's patients and UC patients have been successfully treated using MAP antibiotics. You need a genetic disposition for the bacteria to grow in your body. In a study, they found that MAP bacteria could grow in Crohn's patients blood, in UC patients blood, but not in the blood of people who did not have it. MAP bacteria is harmless in itself. It enters your cells similarly to HIV and causes the body to attack the cells. Your body creates inflammation to bleed out the infected cells causing scarring, malabsorption, and eventually death in cows. Doctor's treat this by using immune suppressant drugs removing the symptoms rather than the cause. Can you blame them? Pharmaceutical companies make billions in profits watching UC and Crohn's patients suffer. I have moderate-severe Crohn's Disease, have been hospitalized twice, surgery twice, and been put on very heavy duty immune suppressants that cost over $1,000.00 every other week. Well, once I figured out everything I said above, I changed everything and now today I stand here to say I am off all medication. I am taking a simple herbal supplement called Cat's Claw that cost $6.00 and lasts me 50 days at 4000 mg/day. I am able to eat more foods and am doing much better than I was on any of the ridiculously drugs my doctor put me on. Thank you :)
