I have Crohn's . I'm on Remicade, Weening from Prednisone - now on 15mg, Effexor XR 300mg, Lomotil 2mg prn (max 4tabs/day), Adderall (adderrall) 40mg qd and vitamins. My symptoms are beginning to get so much better. Thank God! Tomorrow i'm meeting a friend and I want to have a few drinks... alcohol yes. What is the most tolerable liquor/alcoholic beverage for someone with Crohn's?
Well no alcohol is good it could exacerbates you symptoms cause lots of pain i myself stay away for alcohol i understand you want to go out and have fun and be social because i do know sometimes it hard when you have crohn's but there are a lot of good drinks that can be made with out liquor just ask the bartender i am always everyone favorite the always have a sober driver but everyone is different so it up to you and how you think you can handle the side effect if any
I've had Crohns/colitis since August 2008. After taking meds (predisone, salofalk, etc) I was better by January 2009. I was able to drink most types of alcohol (in moderation) with no side affects.
Recently I've had some flare ups and have been put back on Prednisone, Mezavant, anf vitamins. I had a gluten free beer which felt okay but I think being on the meds mixed with alcohol made me feel a little off.
Personally I would wait till you are off the prednisone and other meds. While you are off the meds then try alcohol to see if there is irritation.
