Diarrhea for almost six months

I am a 39 year old male, and I have had diarrhea for almost six months now.  I have been to my family Doctor regarding this, and he has sent me for test which include colon infection, c-diff, and hemoccult.  All three had negative results.  I had to take the C-diff test since I had a MRSA infection shortly before the diarrhea began.  I also have a hiatal hernia, which I do take medication for, but I still have trouble swallowing food.  I have been waiting to hear from the Doctor regarding an appointment for a scope in my lower GI.  It has been a month since he told me that he would book an appointment, but I still haven't heard from the specialist.  I have minimal 10 bowel movements per day.  It is affecting my sleep, and I get severe abdominal pain. Other then going to work, I stay home.  I have become extremely depressed and I get exhausted very easily.  I really need to know what I could be dealing with.  I am worried, and I can't deal with not knowing what is wrong anymore.
