I had a bad bladder infection before Christmas and went on a very healthy diet under supervision (meat, veg, nuts, seeds, rice) the candida diet basically as I had been given a lot of antibiotics and it was thought I might have a yeast overgrowth. I found the diet very restrictive
but was doing ok on it and my bladder problems died away, which was brilliant.
Over the last few weeks I found I was finding the diet harder and harder to do (it was going on months and the carb restriction was affecting me mentally), i broke the diet very badly last week, went on a 2 day binge
, so bad I had to go to the doctor. I told him everything and he said while my stomach felt fine, he could hear a lot of activitiy in my gut (using stetescope) but felt that it would just die away. However, its a week later and despite fasting
, changing my diet to a very bland, digestible (soup, smoothies, toast) diet, the discomfort is still there. It is definitely lower discomfort, not upper.
I feel I have damaged my gut very badly, firstly by the diet i was on, then breaking it so badly (I did really overeat) and then going back onto veg, nuts and seeds, which probably has irritated it big time. I had binged on sugary foods and I am wondering if that disrupted things in my colon and now I am paying the price for my lapse with an inflamed colon, is that possible?
However, what has confused the doctor more is that I have had normal bowel movements (no blood, no diahorrea) and that the pressure
