Hi there!

Yes, some food categories may be associated with aggravation or relief of symptoms in IBD. However the food items tend to vary between individuals i.e. the same food item may be associated with increased symptoms in one person and decreased symptoms in another. For practical purposes it is advised to maintain a food intake log or food diary keeping a record of the type of food intake, quantity and presence or absence of symptoms; and adjust the diet accordingly in consultation with a nutritionist to avoid nutrient deficiencies.
Hope this is helpful.

Take care!

As a patient with Crohn's colitis I can share that in my case I couldn't tolerate Pork, eggs, sour stuff, deep fried food etc.

I totally got off them for six To nine months and then when I felt my symptoms kind of stabilized, I tried introducing one item and observe for a couple days. Now, After after almost 10months, I'm able to take near normal food.

A Food diary Really Helps figure out what works for you & what doesn't.

I think tracking (food and how I feel, what treatments i've tried, etc.) is so importnat to managing my health!! diet can really make a huge difference. (remember tho that cutting out too much, while it might help feel bettera t first, could be a problem long term). Have you tried tracking on the internet? i haven't used the tracker here but crohnology.com has one, maybe some other sites do too.
