Elevated eosinophils and protein with Crohn's disease
My husband found out last year at the age of 38 that he has Crohn's disease. He was very, very ill and lost 35 pounds in one month (off his 185 pounds) and was severely ill before a diagnosis was made. It seemed like after that he was riddled with bad lab work. After rushing him to the ER twice we found out that he had severe prostatitis and was treated on antibiotics for about three months by his urologist. His lab work is always off though. He still has trace blood (RBC
11.8. He just had a physical for work and that's how these were found (again). We feel like we get the run around everywhere and his PCP is not interested in really helping us figure this out so we'll be finding another primary
. I sometimes wonder if my husband's body was so run down after his flare with crohn's that other problems insued after that. Could these lab results be normal for him? His urine
showed blood when we saw the urologist and that's how he was diagnosed with the prostatitis. He has had just about every urology test and everything else looked fine - bladder great and kidney's great. He's been scoped up and down. The latest doctor he saw said that it could be an allergy or drug interaction. He is on asacol for crohn's. Now I saw that Crohn's can result in elevated eosinophils also. We're not sure if we should be concerned or not. What should we do next? He has a urology doctor and a gastro doctor.
