Extremely concerned about my boyfriend....

by AeMeMeS, Mar 22, 2009 10:08AM
Last night my boyfriend called me in the bathroom, he told me to look at the blood.  (when he does #2).  He said that it had been going on for a couple days.  I freaked out because, the water was actually red and I could see it on the toilet paper and there was blood splatter around the inside of the toilet.  Then I was really freaked out when he told me that that was the LEAST it had been, that ever other time there was alot more.  I really dont think this is right.  Any ideas what this could be?  He is a 23 yr old, really healthy.

i would most definitely get this checked out immediately. this can be signs of something going awry in his stomach/colon/intestine and many other areas. Large amounts of blood in bowel movements is not something to ignore.

my boyfriend has had this, hes only 20 but he has said it has stopped. He has also been having chest pains... could this be linked? and should it be ignored now that it has stopped?

i had this, sometimes very large amounts of blood and extreme abdominal pain, still do sometimes.  Went on for years before they finally figured out it was Chrons disease.  Definately a good idea to get it checked out though, ecspecially if theres any chronic pain or other symptoms.  My life was hell because of the pain and when they finally figured out what it was my doctor said it was a really severe case because it had gone on so long without treatment. Now i get a drug called Remicade intraveneously every 3 months and it does miracles
