Irritable bowel syndrome

Dear Sir,
I (Ashok Sood) am suffering from IBS from last 15 years.
Doctor’ s have done endoscopy and colonoscopy and declared Colitis.
I was in very bad shape and was advised to take Mesacol Tab. 800gm ( 3 times a day).
Blood use to come while passing stool.
Slowly I recovered and am taking controlled diet.
As time passed I myself reduced my dose to 4 tables per day.
Can you please advise me if, this disease is curable or not.
I want to stop eating Mesacol Tab.

I've read that colitis can go into remission and the symptoms decrease greatly. Each situation is different, but I would think you should have an informal chat with your doctor about changing the levels of your meds and monitoring your symptoms.

Various people have experienced reductions differently and some folks even changed meds completely.

As always, you should discuss this with your doctor.
