I am a 50 year old male. 6' 1" 225 lbs. For the last couple of years I have been experiencing pain in my lower colon. It begins as a dull ache, but progresses to a more uncomfortable aching and pressure feeling. It happens sometimes after a bowel movement, but more frequently it will wake me up in the middle of the night. I probably have 5-6 episodes a year, so its not too frequent. I had a colonoscopy last month that found two very small polyps much farther inside my colon and they were removed. The episodes usually last 30 to 60 minutes. I seems like I can shorten the duration by massaging the anal area and causing it to relax dramatically, almost as if I were having a bowel movement.
