CROHN'S DISEASE / ULCERATIVE COLITIS COMMUNITY
Mucous with blood in it.

Mucous with blood in it.

I am having mucous with blood in it and I am in remission for crohns disease.  However, I thought I had the flu and that it would go away.  But I have had dyherra for about 2 weeks with pain.  And today I passed like 2 white mucousy looking balls that were a little pink and it looked like there was blood in them.  It felt like I needed to go to the bathroom like NOW. I even had to run.  I am getting a referal for going to a new GI could it be possible that my crohns is coming back?

Hi there - this happens to me ALL THE TIME - my Crohn's is dormant, too, but I do suffer from IBS (diarrhrea-predominant).  It is very possible to suffer from IBS along with having Crohn's (whether the Crohn's is in remission or not) - this may (or may not) be what's happening to you.  Have you talked to your doctor yet?  That would be the best thing - if you haven't or can't yet...you are probably okay (definitely talk to him though) - to me, it doesn't sound urgent (now, if you see bright red blood streaming out when you have a BM, that's a big problem  :-)  I've been told that sometimes if I eat something that bothers my GI tract really badly (like spicy foods) that it can trigger a mucousy-response...it does go away - sometimes it takes a little while.

I hope this helped you a little.

:-)
