Need more information on celiac

by forry63, Jun 28, 2009 05:08PM
I was diagnoised with Celiac disease in Oct.08. In addition to all of the symptoms related to celiac I have also been experiencing rectal pain and recurrent fissures along with it. I feel extreme pressure in the rectum and sometimes mucas with bowel movements. What could this be. I have been totally gluten free for over 8 months and celiac symptom free. Could I also have crohns???

You have what I have just that I DON'T have the 6+ BMs daily, Pressure, Intolerable pain when having bowel movement, burning, FARTING, etc..  I still wipe my butt now and then after taking a leak and find watery **** on anus.....THIS is Proctitis!

Sorry to hear you have Celiac on Top of IBD.   This is just awful man I'll be thinking of you throughout the day and wondering how you survive-I REALLY HOPE YOU ARE NEAR 63 YRS OLD AND JUST came down with these symptoms and problems.  I'll be 49 yrs in August and been having Proctitis symptoms the past 4 yrs and finally got a colonoscopy last November to rule out internal hemrroids, but I knew what I had because I told the gastro what I had and just wanted to know if he saw anything else in my colon.

Note:
I never took the Hydrocortisone Acetate with the 3 Refills the gastro guy gave me for the Rectal inflammation.   I use papaya enzyme, cayenne capsules, garlic, drink coffee.  The papaya enzyme and cayenne can be found in Vitamin section.   I would google cayenne and celiac disease to see if it helps or not, I am sure the enzymes will.

Read my last post it has stuff on colon cancer that you have a HIGHLY Increased risk for.  And man CAN'T CURE it in some people even by removing the colon!
So sad with all these diseases caused by Immune system response, chemicals, viruses, etc., that they can't Treat and some out there believe taking a cell from a fetus will give us a cure for just about anything-How mentally challenged they are!

What about the cause of the disease?
How come they can only treat symptoms?
Why isn't there progress in medicine?
You want to get cancer so they can poison you to death with chemo?

PREVENT COLON CANCER WITH COFFEE!  IT IS PROVEN TO PREVENT IT AND MORE EFFECTIVE THAN ALOT OF THESE DRUGS TO PREVENT CANCER OF THE UTERUS!    WHY DO Doctors Badmouth COFFEE which will ADD 20 years or more to your life?!    IT IS TIME FOR SOMEONE TO DEMAND THEY PRODUCE THE EVIDENCE AGAINST COFFEE OR SHUT THE @@@@ UP!  COFFEE WILL ALSO PREVENT ALSHEIMERS, PARKINSONS, ETC.. JUST TAKE YOUR B VITMAMINS WHEN DRINKING COFFEE SINCE COFFEE IS DIURETIC

Hi. What you are describing sounds a lot like what I have been experiencing for nearly a year. I have chronic fissures, inflammation and a fistula -all consistent with Crohn's.

However, these are the only symptoms I have, and I ended up having a colonoscopy 2 months ago. Some small chronic inflammation showed up, and was consistent with Crohn's. I was in denial until I got in to see a GI specialist, and based on what they found in the colonoscopy and the symptoms I do have, they determined I did have a minor case of Crohns. It depends on what they find in your colon -if you have a colonoscopy. If they find no evidence of Crohn's, then you may just have chronic fissures. However, the question of Crohn's does pop up when you have fissure that do not heal, as in my case.

I was also prescribed Hydrocortisone Acetate along with antibiotics, and it has been helping with the inflammation and pain. But, it has been an ongoing thing for me, so I know how painful and frustrating it can be.

I do hope you are able to get things figured out. Good luck.
