Reaction to Pentasa

by junglemom, Jun 22, 2009 12:16PM
I was recently 're-diagnosed' with Crohn's disease following a bowel resection to correct a fistula.  I had a ball of looped up bowel which has to be removed, this at the site of a previous surgery (bowel resection) for diverticulitis 3 years ago. My question is I was prescribed Pentasa along with Flagyl as a conservative treatment for what my doctor describes as mild Crohn's symptoms.  It seems that since I had to have a major surgery after 2 months of excruciating pain, my Crohn's is not exactly mild.  When I took the two blue Pentasa pills, an hour later I was doubled over in excruciating pain.  Has anyone else experienced this reaction with Pentasa?
