Seton pain

by tinydancer678, Oct 12, 2009 10:28PM
Last january (about 10 months ago) i went to emergency surgery to have an anerectal abcess (abscess) drained and a seton put in. I was told that i should take warm baths 3 times a day and that the seton would remain in until drainage looked clear and the swelling was down, then i would start remicaid to shrink the remaining abcess (abscess) and prevent future ones, as well as to relieve my crohn's. at first the seton relieved the pain and i was doing great, then after a few months the tissue around the seton became extremely painful. the doctors don't seem too concerned with this and, until i start the remicaid, i'm just taking heavy pain meds to deal with it on a daily basis. The other pain i am experiencing is actually in the muscle-ish tissue going from the setons and continuing out about 6 inches down the inside of my leg. it's very painful in an aching, sore kind of way, especially if i ever stretch that part of my leg in any way. i mentioned this also to my doctors and they didn't really say anything about it, but on my last visit my doctor asked specifically if i was experiencing this pain. i said yes but didn't ask her what it meant. does anyone know? i would be very grateful.
