There are also vitamin injections if the pills are not being absorbed! My colon has been removed and I am still getting them as my body still doesnt seem to know what to do.
hey I had this when I was her age, n I always struggled so much wit energy levels and I still do. if I was u I wud speak 2 the dr or the ibd nurse because once the crohns is in check energy levels should go bk to normal, its most likely the flare up. n the joint pain can b from use of steriods over time, should say to the doctors so she can go for a bone scan. I got diagnosed with crohns when I was 8 n now im 24, n doctors still hvnt gt my crohns in check, but hopefully 1 day there will b a cure!!!
good look x
Hi Anita-
I would second the above advice and also add that Aloe juice, probiotics and vitamin B12 injections help enormously. If you have access to an infrared sauna this makes a big difference in feeling better. I ended up buying one and use it daily when flaring. My heart goes out to you. I got Crohn's when i was 26 and it was devastating. I can't imagine what it is like for a child. I wish you both the best and send healing vibes....

Hey Anita!
I found a few herbal medications that helps me a lot with pain and inflammation throughout my years. Curcumin, Boswellia, and Wobenzym.
They all have natural ani-inflammatories which help with joint pain and inflammation of the body in general.
The amounts she should take depend on the MG mentioned on the bottle. I took slightly more then it said as anything I consumed went right through me. It does take a couple weeks to start to work as it is a natural remedy, though.
I also used a lot of heating pads. I hated the heat, but the heat made me forget out the pain.
Often the fatigue is from anemia. I'm sure she is probably bleeding a lot right now? If you don't know already, put her on a bland diet and also consider iron supplements, Vitamin B supplements, and Vitamin D supplements. I read today that low Vitamin D can cause depression, fatigue, and body aches (I have to go for a VItamin D injection.. I have been putting it off because the idea of it in a needle scares me.)
I would speak to a doctor or pharmacist about these things. Most doctors don't know about cucurmin, boswellia, and wobenzym but there are studies being done in the US. If anything to dosages for the vitamins would be good information to have set aside for future flares.
Good luck, and I hope she feels better soon!
