Tysabri Experiences???

Remicade and Humira have not helped to control my 12 year old son's Crohn's.  Looking at Tysabri.  Would love to hear some first hand experiences!

Seems extreme, but all other medication classes/groups have been completely ineffective.  Remicade and Humira helped to control the pain, but not the disease.  He continues to develop both acute and chronic strictures, ulcerations throughout the small and into the large bowel, and has had a penetrating event.

Hi there!

Tysabri is one of the latest additions to the medications available for control of IBD. It is a monoclonal antibody designed against the inflammatory process and has shown good results in patients not responding to other medications. It would be best to discuss the pros and cons of the medication in detail with his treating gastroenterologist.
Hope this is helpful.

Take care!
