Ulcerative Proctitis lead to Pancolitis?

Hello, I just had a colonoscopy done today and I was told I have Ulcerative Proctitis. I was told by the doctor that since my bleeding is mild it would not be detrimental if did not take the suppository medication he gave me (P. I was wondering though, if I leave my Ulcerative Proctitis untreated, is it more likely to develop into Pancolitis/Universal Colitis (complete infection of the colon, rather than just the rectum)? I have read some horrible stories about Crohn's Disease etc. and I am very worried.

Thanks in advance. Regards,

Maqqie
