Weight Loss, Undigested food & pills & blood/mucus in stool...

I have been having problems for nearly 2 years ago. I was 180 lbs. in Feb 07, but now am down to 120 without trying, and actually I eat high calorie foods trying to keep weight on me. I am now so boney...

Anyway, I have had numerous symptoms: blood & mucous in my stool, weight loss, dehydration, low potassium, diarrhea and/or frequent BMs, migraines, mild anemia from time to time, abdominal pain, nausea & vomiting. I have had numerous tests (when I first became ill my brother was dx'd at age 36 with pancreatic cancer & has since passed) looking for cancer even though I was pretty sure cancer was not the issue. A small bowel follow through in Feb 08 showed inflammation in the lower right quadrant, either cecum or ileum, but possibly small bowel loops overlaying the cecum/ileum. I have had 2 colonoscopies, one showed small ulcerations, the biopsies on that came back as focal active colitis, one biopsy with crypt distortion. The second scope was clean after months on azulfidine & prednisone. I have also had 2 EGDs, the first showed mild chronic gastritis, the second just a couple weeks ago showed linear ulceration & gastritis. I have not seen the actual reports myself to see the actual wording of this latest EGD. I had the prometheus blood test for IBD which came back inconclusive for IBD so my GI said I do NOT have crohn's disease (my GI has went back & forth telling me I do have it, then I don't....). The GI said that it must be overproduction of stomach acid causing the ulceration & gastritis since I am not on NSAIDs and I was negative for h.pylori & celiac sprue. I also tried the lactose free diet & the fructose free diet with no luck.

I am at a loss. Now I am passing pieces of my pills again, so I know things are not digesting as they should be. I have had constant vomiting, it seems, but was told that could be due to pain &/or headache issues.

I don't know where to go from here. Does this sound like crohn's disease? What else could it be?

This does should like it could be chrons.  There is a genetic test that would show if you have the gene or not.  If this test is negative you should then look at UC.  Insist on having the genetic test.   The weight loss and diarrhea are symptoms of chrons and UC.
These are not cureable and you may need to be on meds again.  They flare up off and on.   good luck
