My 15 yoa son has not been able to keep anything except pudding, jello and gatorade down. Anytime he eats anything else he throws it up. He has no abdominable pain he just does not keep food down. He is losing weight and his energy level is dropping.

Gosh this sounds much like what my 16 yo daughter is going through. Started in April and lasted until mid June. It appeared to be triggered by a virus but never went away. She was vomiting after almost every food/drink. 10 or more times daily. However, it didn't stop her from trying to eat, she was always in the fridge saying she was hungry ... until she got tired of vomiting and really cut back on eating ... she was was only eating applesauce, eggo waffles and animal crackers for about 6 weeks. She lost about 10-12 lbs ... and was put in the hospital with a NG feeding tube. So stressful and scary. During the months of April-June she had upper and lower GI xrays while drinking berium, then blood and stool work, EGD scope and a stomach CTscan. ALL was normal. Not that we wanted something to be wrong but we wanted an answer, a solution. So after June hospital stay things improved but not all the way better. She had insomnia, vomiting tapered but she wasn't eating normally, had food adversions. So ... fastforward to 4 weeks ago she seemed pretty OK except the sleeping issues, got a tummy bug, lasted for 4-5 days and then she was like i feel the EXACT same way as before ... and here we are. She is homebound with school and all the dr can say is its IBS and she needs to control her sensors and stresses -- work on the sleep schedule, go back to school and also see a counselor, no gum, only mints. IS it IBS? I can't find anyone with vomiting and IBS with NO bowel issues. We are going with IBS for now ... we have a 2nd opinion at Wake Forest on the 24th. So who knows. We saw a counselor today that will help her use biofeed back to control symptoms and just talk about her stresses (life being turned upside down) ... on and last week she has the HIDAscan on her gallbladder, it was 33% but dr swears it isn't her GB ... its IBS, plain and simple sigh.

What tests has your son been through?
