White tongue

Does anyone have a white tongue due to Crohn's? If yes, what did the doctors say it was from and can it be treated? I have a feeling its because my digestive system isn't working well as I am not absorbing much. (45lb weight loss)

Yes, it is probably thrush.  I got it when they gave me antibiotics for my Crohn's.  The antibiotics kill off the good bacteria in your mouth and thrush is a fungus.  It is easy to treat with prescription lozenges, but it takes a couple of weeks for it to go away.  It won't go away on its own, so you need to go to the doctor.  Good luck!

Ive showed the doctors, but all they say is that my tongue is coated due to being sick. I have had this for months now and they don`t seem too worried. I was put on anti-fungal for a week but it diidn't do anything. I haven`t been on antibiotics for Crohn's, only for a prostate problem they thoughtt I had when this all started, then I got Cdifficile because of it and was put on antibiotics for that. During that time, my tongue went back to normal for a while, but came back after I stopped taking the antibiotics. I am now on Entocort but when I finish, I will be taking probiotics to try and restore the balance of bacteria and hopefully it will also take care of the white togue.
